On October 23, a "Yangtze River Express" freight train loaded with corn departed from the Chengxi Port railway line's Shanggang operation area in Jiujiang city, Jiangxi province, bound for Sichuan province via the Qilihu Railway Station in Jiujiang. The opening of this route marks the successful extension of the "Yangtze River Express" railway operation section to Jiangxi, following its previous coverage of Sichuan, Hubei and Hunan provinces. With this development, the goal of full coverage across the middle reaches of the Yangtze River—Hubei, Hunan and Jiangxi—has been achieved.
